PR Social Media
The world-renowned Super Bowl took place last Sunday (12th February), and it seems the show-stopping finale was definitely worth staying up late for, whether it be for Rihanna’s comeback halftime show or the nail-biting game itself – however, if you work in the world of PR and marketing, it’s arguably the adverts that are the most anticipated part of the night.
The ads are the most sought-after, prime-time slots in the TV calendar, and reportedly, 30-second slots set companies back a whopping $7m – a budget I’m sure most marketeers can only dream of.
So, what did Super Bowl LVII have in store for viewers? The answer is more of the same, generally: A-list celebrity cameos and plenty of comedic skits, all with one goal in mind: to entertain.
And entertainment is exactly what we got, in many cases (at least in the more ‘successful’ examples anyway) – I mean, how better to create a lasting impact for your brand than by putting something out there that’s memorable, right?
But, if you live in the UK, there’s a good chance that you missed the entire experience completely (we get it; sleep is precious). So, we’ve made it easy for you to catch up on some of the most talked-about ads of the night.
Who do you think got it spot on, and perhaps more interestingly, who do you think completely missed the mark? Decide for yourself:
